English Language Arts Strategies

Outcome Goal

● By June 2025, at least 70% of all 3rd grade students will pass their respective end of year assessment. By June 2025, at least 30% of students receiving special education services will pass their respective end of year assessment (SOL/VAAP). 
● By June 2025, at least 70% of all students (k-6) will pass their respective end of year assessment.

Strategies

● Increase teacher content knowledge of evidence-based literacy instruction aligned with science-based reading research to improve implementation of new core curriculum.
● Improve integrity of implementation of new core curriculum, English Language Development program, and/or intervention programs by using FCPS-adopted resources with fidelity.

Mathematics Strategies

Outcome Goal

● By June 2025, at least 75% of students in grades 3-6 will pass their respective end of year math assessment (SOL, VAAP).  
● By June 2025, at least 75% of all students (k-6) will pass their respective end of year math assessment (SOL, VAAP).                   

Strategies

● Increase teachers' content knowledge and implementation of the 2023 FCPS mathematics program of studies.                            

Special Education

Outcome Goal

● By June 2025, at least 72% of all Grades 3-6 Students with Disabilities will pass their respective Reading SOL

● By June 2025, at least 75% of all Grades 3-6 Students with Disabilities will pass their respective Math SOL "                            

Strategies

● Address reading needs for targeted subgroups through consistent Tier 1 instruction and effective small group instruction/programming
